Hatch Chile Salsa

Before I get into this post I just wanted to say that this is actually going to be my last recipe that I cook from the cookbook called Thug Kitchen 101. I’ve had a new cookbook from the same company for a few months now and I’m finally starting it. So my next post is going to be the first one from this new cookbook and I’m super excited to just jump right in to a new book.

So without further ado let’s get into this final post. This was called the hatch chile salsa and it is the perfect appetizer or snack. The base is canned hatch chiles which I believe are just green chiles. They have a little bit of spice but it’s nothing overwhelming.

The only other ingredients in the salsa are some white onion, cilantro, jalapeno and lime juice. It is a really fresh mix of ingredients that brighten up the canned chiles. I love the little bite from the onion and jalapeno and of course the heat as well. If you wanted to make this milder you could always omit the jalapeno. But I loved the level of heat here.

I served this salsa with some jalapeno agave tortilla chips (obviously any tortilla chips would be delicious though). I liked the sweet and spicy of the chips with the fresh flavours of the salsa. I have some leftovers and I will probably put it on some tacos or something. Very good salsa though and this was a great way to end this cookbook!

Like I said at the beginning, my next post will be from a new book! Hope you follow along on my next cookbook journey! 🙂
