Fall Baked Brie

Want a delicious appetizer, perfect to serve to family or friends? Baked brie is a great way to go.

Brie cheese on its own is fantastic but after baking, it becomes so soft and gooey. Today’s recipe, from Damn Delicious, was fall-inspired. It has brown sugar and a caramel-like topping with nuts (I used walnuts), cranberries and orange zest.

This was so easy to prepare. The cheese gets baked with a little brown sugar on top. While that is cooking, I made the sticky topping. All the ingredients in the topping were brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange zest, nuts, cranberries.

Once the cheese is softened, the topping gets piled on and then it’s ready to eat. I served mine with tortilla chips but any other kind of crunchy dipper (pita chips, crostini, crackers) would be amazing!

I know it sounds like a lot of sweetness from the topping but it was delicious and it tasted amazing with the cheese. The hint of nutmeg and orange zest, as well as eating with salty chips, helped to cut some of the sugar. This was a great snack and it got gobbled up so quickly – you may want to make two of them!
