Creamy Spinach Dip

Spinach dip is such a great appetizer for parties because everyone loves it. Usually, it’s made with a lot of high fat products like mayonnaise and sour cream but mine didn’t use either of those, so it was relatively healthy. I used this recipe (link here).

I made a few changes to the recipe but everything worked out and it turned out really well. I did a half batch because I didn’t have enough of the ingredients for the full recipe. I also used raw spinach, cooked it down then drained excess water. For the cheese, instead of cheddar and mozzarella, I used old cheddar. I like the stronger flavour that it gave to the dip. Also, I didn’t add any salt because the cream cheese and cheese had enough salt in it, but I made sure to add lots of black pepper.

This was such a tasty dip though. It was so cheesy, creamy and delicious. I probably could have broiled it to get a little more brown on top but it was good anyways. I served it with tortilla chips, bread and carrots. Everyone who tried it, loved it, and I will definitely be making it again. I think I might not even bake it next time because it was tasty before going into the oven too.
