Today I made two super yummy desserts. So on the left, those are red velvet crinkle cookies that I made using a cake mix (http://www.letsdishrecipes.com/2013/02/red-velvet-crinkle-cookies.html#.UYp3zCs5zYI). On the right, those are two pans of nutella brownies (I doubled the recipe to result in both pans) and that recipe is from sally’s baking addiction, of course (http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2016/04/04/nutella-brownies/).

Both turned out really well, but I’m a little happier with the brownies. The crinkle cookies are good, but because they use a cake mix, they have a bit of a strange fluffiness (because of the chemicals and whatnot that they add to cake mixes to make them that way). I wasn’t a big fan of that. It might be a bit of an acquired taste. But I do like the fact that you can make things other than just cake using cake mix. I might try to explore that area more in the future because I always like expanding my horizons when I cook/bake.

Overall, it was a fun cooking day.
